敬的王书记、蔡市长，各位领导、各位来宾、朋友们：
大家好。感谢大家在百忙中能够出席淘宝城的启动仪式。
一年前的今天，杭州人民帮淘宝开始编织幸福，编织“拥有属于自己的家，拥有属于自己的淘宝城”幸福。一年后的今天，这个幸福开始开花，我们的淘宝城在一天天的茁壮成长。
我谨代表淘宝1700号员工，近1亿的用户，感谢杭州人民，感谢杭州市委、市政府，感谢在座各位的大力支持。
崭新的2009年即将到来。2009年对淘宝是展翅腾飞的一年。阿里巴巴有一个传统：逢双练功，逢单出击。09年，扎根杭州的淘宝将努力把网络购物推广到全国各地，让它成为老百姓的购物习惯，生活方式，并因此改变中国人几十年的就业方式，思维方式。
08年，已有近1亿中国老百姓开始习惯上网购物，我们预计，09年，这个群体将扩大到1.5亿，很多退休的老人，也会开始喜欢上网卖家里的闲置物品，下订单买柴米油盐酱醋。
我们期待这种生活习惯的变化也能迅速覆盖中国人的就业习惯。目前淘宝上有200万卖家，在他们之中有40多万人，单纯依靠淘宝收入，就已经充分解决就业了。围绕着这40多万淘宝卖家，至少还有100万人在忙碌。这其中包括在路上奔波的物流快递员、司机，包括写字楼里西装革履的金融业人士，还包括整天坐在电脑前的IT人士，甚至那些网络推销员。09年，淘宝期望能够给社会提供超过60万个直接且充分的就业岗位，近200万个间接就业岗位。
同时，我们期待电子商务所倡导的“诚信、透明、责任”的新商业文明能被越来越多的人所接受，并逐渐取代在08年备受拷问的旧商业文明。这场百年一遇的经济危机爆发的根本原因就在于商业诚信出了问题，旧的商业文明出了问题。在金融危机基础上成长起来的新商业文明，最好的代表就是电子商务，因为它的诚信，因为它的透明，因为它的责任感。
作为电子商务之都的杭州，毫无疑问最有机会成为新商业文明的发源地甚至中心。期待淘宝城成为继西湖之后的，杭州的第二张城市名片。西湖浓缩的是我们传统文化的精华，而淘宝城则是新商业文明的地标。这是一个光荣而艰巨的历史使命，我们淘宝人将努力完成。
在这，我要再次感谢余杭区的领导，正是你们的支持和帮助，淘宝城才能从创意变为现实，这份荣誉属于淘宝，更属于余杭、属于杭州。
我也要再次感谢杭州市的领导，正因为你们的真知灼见，为中国的电子商务创造一块乐土，我相信从淘宝城里将走出一个改变中国、改变全世界的新文明。
最后，我想说的是，无论淘宝走得多快、走得多远，淘宝城永远是我们的根。
